So in for review today, is the Dan Henry 1947. its a direct homage to the chronometers of the 1950's. More specifically the omega ref. 2366. The strong part of the watch is of courser the dial. This dial is superb. It is one of the nicest, best-finished dials that you'll find for the price.
It is matte-silver with light texturing with a fairly thick ring of brushed silver that is home to the gorgeous rose-gold Arabic numbers and markers..
The seconds hand subdial is at the 6 position l with a polished, beveled edge and a blue hand.
The sub-seconds actually is a layer beneath the main dial, creating depth on the dial.
the case, is all brushed except for the side of the bezel, which is polished.
the finishing of the case is executed perfectly. The brown leather strap is pretty average, and ill keep it on the watch. Ive yet to use the included nato strap.
The watch Is very well balanced and most minimalist designs these days sacrifice quality but the 1947 packs plenty of punch. The domed crystal is done perfect with slight distortions on the edges. which adds a more refined look.
Here is a unique vintage Raymond Weil piece. This has a beautiful sunray blue dial that pops right out in the May sun. The dial does have some wear around the outer edges. Gold baton markers with matching gold stick hands. This powered by a 17 jewel RW stamped movement which keeps great time. Stated serviced by previous owner therefore should beat consistently for the foreseeable future. Inner case back is RW stamped as well.
Dan Henry 1970 is an enchanting watch regardless of its price point. If the large size of this watch is the only thing holding you back,
you will be pleased to know that there is also a 40mm version. This is a fun and unique watch that brings an equal amount of style and value.
The case is 44mm with a stonking-wide 24mm tropical strap. But it balances the rest of the watch perfectly.
The top crown rotates the inner chapter-ring, and the ring itself glides with precision as you twist the crown.
The 1970 is limited to 1970 pieces, but you may find one in near new condition second hand these days.
